**Requirements for PR author:**
- [ ] All missing test coverage is tracked with "TODO" or `.unimplemented()`.
- [ ] New helpers are `/** documented */` and new helper files are found in `helper_index.txt`.

- [ ] Helpers and types promote readability and maintainability.
